Active Inference and Self-Organization

Stathine–Coexon reinterpretation of Karl Friston’s work. Original conceptual formulation by Anand Damani.

Friston's free-energy framework describes how biological systems maintain themselves by regulating their relationship with the environment and reducing uncertainty within a formal model. (Quanta Magazine)

“A living organism maintains its biological coherence through active regulation; the Coexon hypothesis extends the question toward how sentient coherence may organize meaning, choice and behaviour.”

The distinction is important: active inference is an established research program, while the proposed connection to Coexon requires independent investigation.
